Our team will look to be again in the mix on home turf.
Warlop fourth in GP Criquielion
Named after the 1984 World Champion, the Grand Prix Criquielion took place Saturday afternoon in the Walloon region of Belgium, and despite the short hills and cobbles spread over the course, it followed the script and ended up in a bunch sprint.
But before the fast men hit the spotlight, a breakaway of four animated the race for more than three hours, only to be reeled in just 20 kilometers from the finish. Then, with ten kilometers to go, Josep Cerny tried his luck, riding away from the group, but despite this valiant effort he was reabsorbed by the peloton, who was led by a coalition of teams that wanted a mass gallop.
Second at the Muscat Classic last month, Jordi Warlop was again in the frame for our team, coming home just outside the podium, as Sam Welsford (Team DSM) took the victory. Stan Van Tricht made it two Soudal Quick-Step riders in the top 10, after finishing seventh in Lessines.
